Privacy Policy

How DevNoun LLC, doing business as HookVerb, collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use hookverb.com, its wiki and Learning Center, its MCP server, and related communications.

This Privacy Policy explains how DevNoun LLC d/b/a HookVerb (“HookVerb,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use (a) the HookVerb website at https://hookverb.com, including the HookVerb wiki, the HookVerb Learning Center, and any related webpages, forms, feeds, and machine-readable representations of them; (b) the HookVerb hosted Model Context Protocol (“MCP”) server, APIs, and any account or authorization features; and (c) related communications and marketing efforts (collectively, the “Site”).

A written agreement for a consulting engagement may incorporate this Privacy Policy by reference. Information we receive from a client in the course of an engagement is governed by that agreement together with this Privacy Policy, and where the two conflict, the agreement controls for that engagement.

If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, do not use the Site.

1. Scope and Key Definitions

  • “Personal Information” means information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked (directly or indirectly) with you or your device.
  • “Sensitive Personal Information” may include certain government identifiers, precise geolocation, financial account information, health information, or other categories defined by applicable law. We collect precise location only where you enable it on your device or browser, and we do not intentionally request other sensitive data through the Site unless clearly needed for a specific purpose and disclosed at collection.
  • “User Content” means the content you provide to the Site (for example: inquiries, messages, materials you send us for a review, and, for authorized account holders, pages and other content submitted through the Site).
  • “AI Output” means content generated by artificial intelligence tools, whether tools we use to operate the Site and our business or third-party AI systems that read the Site (which may be inaccurate or incomplete).

This Privacy Policy applies to information collected online through the Site and through our marketing efforts connected to the Site.

2. Eligibility and Children’s Privacy (18+)

The Site is intended for individuals 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us Personal Information, contact us at hi@hookverb.com and we will take steps to delete it as appropriate.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide

We may collect:

  • Contact and inquiry information: name, email address, phone number, company, website or offering page, and what you tell us about your company, your team, or your offering when you submit a form, email us, book or attend a call or meeting, or otherwise contact us.
  • Account information: if you create an account or make a purchase, name, email address, company, billing name and address, order and subscription history, and sign-in activity. Staff accounts are issued by us.
  • Authorization data: if you connect a third-party application (for example, an MCP client) to the Site with your account, the application’s registration details, the permissions you grant, and the tokens issued for it.
  • User Content: inquiries, messages, documents, links, and other information you enter into or send through the Site.
  • Support and communications: information you provide when contacting us (including email, phone, video, messaging platforms, or in-product support).
  • Marketing preferences and consents: opt-in/opt-out choices for emails, SMS, calls, and other channels.
  • Payment-related information: if you make a purchase or pay an invoice through the Site, our payment processor collects your payment details directly. We receive transaction and entitlement details such as the amount, date, status, billing name and address, payment method type, and the last four digits of a card, but not your full payment card number.

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

We may collect:

  • Device and usage data: device type, operating system, browser type, language, time zone, session activity, pages viewed, links clicked, performance data, and diagnostics.
  • Identifiers: cookie identifiers, device identifiers, and advertising identifiers (where permitted), and related attribution data.
  • Log data: IP address, user agent, referral URLs, request paths, and timestamps, and for machine access to the Site (feeds, markdown representations, APIs, and the MCP server), the client identifier and request metadata, which we use for rate limiting, security, and abuse prevention.
  • Location: approximate location inferred from IP address (e.g., city/state), and precise location (GPS or similar) where you enable it on your device or browser.

3.3 Cookies, Pixels, Tags, and SDKs

Our website may use cookies, pixels, tags (including a tag manager), and similar technologies to:

  • keep you signed in (where applicable),
  • remember preferences,
  • understand usage and improve performance,
  • measure marketing effectiveness and attribution,
  • help prevent fraud and abuse.

Some of these technologies are provided by third parties (see Section 6).

3.4 Information From Other Sources

We may receive information about you or your company from public sources (for example, offering pages, filings with securities regulators, company websites, press, and professional networks), from data, CRM, and marketing providers, and from referrals, and we may combine it with information we collect through the Site. We use it to understand whether and how we can help and to contact you as described in Section 4.

4. How We Use Information

We use Personal Information to:

  1. Provide and operate the Site (including delivering content in human-readable and machine-readable forms, running accounts and authorizations, processing purchases, billing, and receipts, and maintaining the Site).
  2. Respond to inquiries and deliver services (evaluating whether and how we can help, preparing reviews and proposals, and performing consulting engagements).
  3. Improve and develop the Site (including analytics, debugging, testing, research, and feature development).
  4. Customer support (responding to questions, troubleshooting, and user requests).
  5. Security and fraud prevention (monitoring, detecting, and preventing malicious, deceptive, or illegal activity, including abuse of the APIs and the MCP server).
  6. Marketing and communications:
    • send service-related messages (e.g., security alerts, account notices, sign-in links, and updates);
    • send promotional messages via email, SMS/MMS text, phone calls, voicemail (including ringless voicemail drops), messaging platforms, and other channels you provide or enable, by manual or automated means, including automatic dialing systems and prerecorded or artificial voice messages, subject to applicable law and your choices/consents.
  7. Measure marketing performance (conversion tracking, attribution, audience measurement, and campaign reporting).
  8. Legal compliance and enforcement (comply with law, protect rights and safety, and enforce our terms).

5. AI Tools, Automated Processing, and Machine Access

5.1 Our Use of AI Tools

We may use AI tools to help operate the Site and our business, for example to draft or summarize correspondence, organize inquiries, research companies and offerings, analyze data, and prepare deliverables. Inputs to those tools may include Personal Information and User Content you provide. AI Output may be inaccurate or incomplete, and a person at HookVerb is responsible for decisions and for what we send you.

5.2 Use of Content to Improve the Site

We may use User Content, usage data, and feedback to improve the Site and our work. Where feasible, we may use aggregated or de-identified information for analytics and improvement.

5.3 Third-Party AI Providers

We may use third-party AI infrastructure/providers. When we do, we may transmit necessary data (including your inputs) to those providers to generate AI Output and operate the Site. We take steps designed to limit disclosures to what is necessary and to require appropriate safeguards.

5.4 Machine Access to Public Content

The public content of the Site (the wiki, the Learning Center, and related pages) is made available to search engines, AI assistants, and other software through feeds, markdown representations, structured data, and the MCP server, under the content policy stated in our Terms and Conditions and in our machine-readable signals (indexing and citation with attribution are permitted; use as training data is not). This concerns our published content. Personal Information we publish is described in Section 6.6. Content that an authorized account holder contributes to a public space of the Site is public by design.

5.5 Your Choices

If we offer settings or mechanisms to limit certain AI-related uses, we will honor those choices where reasonably available. You may also contact us at hi@hookverb.com with requests described in Section 10.

6. How We Share Information

We may share information in the following situations:

6.1 Service Providers and Vendors

We share information with vendors who help us operate the Site and our business, such as:

  • cloud hosting, content delivery, and database services,
  • analytics, tag management, and performance monitoring,
  • CRM, marketing automation, and customer support tooling,
  • marketing measurement and attribution,
  • communications providers (email, SMS, telephony, video meetings, and messaging),
  • payment processing and invoicing (if used),
  • AI infrastructure/providers.

These vendors may access information only to perform services for us and are required to protect it consistent with their role.

6.2 Clients and Business Contacts

If you contact us on behalf of a company, we may share your information with that company. In a consulting engagement, we may share information with the client and, as the engagement requires and the client directs, with the client’s other vendors and service providers (for example, its counsel, intermediary, agencies, or platforms).

6.3 Business Transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, we may transfer information as part of that transaction, subject to standard confidentiality protections.

We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that it is necessary to:

  • comply with law, legal process, or lawful requests,
  • protect the rights, safety, and security of users, DevNoun/HookVerb, or the public,
  • prevent fraud or address security issues.

We may share information when you direct us to do so or when you otherwise consent.

6.6 Publication

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we may publish Personal Information at our discretion in connection with the Site and our marketing, for example your name, title, company, logo, likeness, and things you have said or sent us, in testimonials, case studies, client lists, and the public spaces of the Site. Published information is public and may be read, indexed, and retained in the Site’s revision history. If you do not want to be identified, tell us at hi@hookverb.com; a written engagement agreement may set other terms.

7. Marketing, Tracking, and Targeted Advertising

We use marketing analytics and measurement to understand what works (for example, which channels lead to inquiries or engagements). Depending on configuration and applicable law, certain partners may collect data via cookies, pixels, tags, or SDKs for:

  • analytics,
  • attribution,
  • advertising measurement,
  • (in some cases) interest-based advertising.

Your controls may include:

  • cookie controls on the website and in your browser (where provided),
  • device-level settings for ad tracking/advertising identifiers,
  • email unsubscribe links,
  • SMS opt-out by replying STOP (or another supported method),
  • asking us not to call you.

We do not guarantee that all tracking can be disabled in all environments; however, we strive to honor legally required opt-outs.

8. Data Retention

We retain Personal Information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide the Site,
  • respond to and follow up on inquiries,
  • comply with legal obligations,
  • resolve disputes, and
  • enforce agreements.

Retention periods vary based on the type of information, why we collected it, and legal requirements. We may retain and use aggregated or de-identified information for longer periods.

9. Security

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. However, no system is completely secure. You use the Site at your own risk. If you hold an account, you are responsible for protecting your email account, the sign-in links we send you, and any application you authorize to act as you, and for telling us promptly of any unauthorized use.

10. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Your rights depend on where you live.

10.1 Account and Contact Information

You may be able to access, update, or correct certain information through the Site. You can also contact us at hi@hookverb.com.

10.2 Deletion Requests

You may request deletion of certain Personal Information by contacting hi@hookverb.com. We may need to retain certain information for legal, security, or operational reasons.

10.3 Marketing Opt-Outs

You can opt out of marketing communications:

  • Email: use unsubscribe links or email hi@hookverb.com
  • SMS: reply STOP (or another supported opt-out method)
  • Calls and voicemail: tell us on the call or email hi@hookverb.com

Account and transactional communications may still be sent.

10.4 Nevada Privacy (Sale Opt-Out)

If you are a Nevada resident, you may have the right to opt out of the “sale” of certain covered information. To submit a verified request, contact hi@hookverb.com with the subject line “Nevada Opt-Out Request” and include sufficient information for us to verify your identity.

10.5 Other Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law. To exercise applicable rights, contact hi@hookverb.com.

11. International Data Transfers

We are based in the United States. If you access the Site from outside the U.S., your information may be processed and stored in the U.S. and other locations where we or our service providers operate. We take steps designed to protect information transferred internationally as required by applicable law.

The Site may link to third-party websites or services, including offering pages, funding portals, platforms, and social networks operated by others. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their privacy policies before providing information to them.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and if changes are material we will provide notice as required by law (for example, via the Site or email). Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
